1964 in John’s life! “A Hard Day’s Night”, and created/recorded the accompanying, best-selling soundtrack; a World Tour, a Scottish sojourn, a lengthy North American Tour hitting cities all across the U.S. and Canada.
Bergen’s book is excellent, but I have two quibbles. One is his ability to remember conversations verbatim from 50 years ago. The other is his comprehensive quoting of a song that’s supposed to be “Stand By Me” but clearly isn’t what John sang (certainly not on the album anyway) to prove a point.
Other than that, highly recommended.
