Thursday, October 29, 2026, was a very happy day for me as I received the copy I ordered from The Fest for Beatles Fans and Mark Lapidos, of the deluxe boxed set edition of The Third Eye. This is a book of photographs compiled by George’s wife, Olivia Harrison of photographs that George took while he was a Beatle. The box set is limited to 1,500 copies and includes 4 special prints and over 300 pages of text and photos and comes in a beautiful slipcase with a signed and numbered card by Olivia Harrison. My copy happens to be copy #66.
What is very special to collectors is the box set comes with a 45 featuring a George Harrison cover of the song entitled Après moi (translation=after me) This is Eartha Kitt’s version of the song: Après moi. The A-side of the Harrison 45 version of the song is in stereo, and the B-side is in mono! Random House is the publisher of the book. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mark Lapidos for carrying this special edition of the book. It is excellent!
I assume George’s version of the 45 will have a different slant or approach to Kitt’s version, lyrically. Since I do not currently have a turntable, I will need to wait until the Harrison estate posts the song to be able to hear it.
