I have often wondered which scriptwriter wrote that Once Upon a Time or Maybe Twice line in Yellow Submarine. I personally suspect it was Erich Segal, the Yale professor who was one of the writers, but I could be wrong. It represents a perfect introduction to this movie, beginning with a fairytale opening yet also giving us a forewarning that the film will be far more adventuresome and daring than the standard animted fairytale. And it was!!!
A rare Yellow Submarine document signed by the artist prominently responsible for the creation of the many characters presented in the animated classic, Heinz Edelmann. I have been told by Yellow Submarine scholar, Dr. Bob Hieronimus, that Edelmann rarely signed any Yellow Submarine items.

The Yellow Submarine Gift Book from 1968: A difficult book to find
I was very fortunate to be able to find the March 1968 issue of the Yale Literary Journal for the collection, which contained an essay by Yale professor, Erich Segal, who was not only the author of the hit book and movie, Love Story, but also was a scriptwriter for Yellow Submarine.
YELLOW SUBMARINE STICKER BOOK AND THE REASON FOR LEAVING FACEBOOK
A book that prompted my departure from running my onetime Beatles Facebook page: Beatles in Print which had more than 5200 members and many prominent Beatle book authors as members. The page was rapidly growing membership until I posted the following Beatles sticker book. I received a notification from Facebook that by posting this book, I was violating community standards. I quickly inquired what standards were being violated and no response from them was ever forthcoming.
After posting this book, the next consecutive 16 or so posts put up by me received the same violating community standards message. Then the Facebook algorithims locked me out of my own page. I had to log in using a new ID and my co-administrators gave me back my admin rights. I then posted an explanation of what had happened to me, to all the members.
Virtually immediately, I received a notification from Facebook that once again I was violating community standards by explaining to the membership what was being done to me. I later discovered that a few former members, using aliases, that I had previously blocked from my FB page due to inappropriate comments and behavior, were one of the sources of the problems I was encountering with Facebook. When I was locked out of FB for a second time, I had enough of the Facebook shenanigans and replied affirmatively to David Bedford’s request and his kind invitation to me to form this blog forum.
In retrospect, I can clearly say that I made the right decision and I will always thank David for this kindness. David relieved me of the cruelty and the often viscious elements of social media.
This is one of two Erich Segal signatures in my collection. As stated above, Mr. Segal was a Yale professor who greatest claims to worldwide recognition were his book Love Story which became a hit movie, and he was also one of the scriptwriters hired for Yellow Submarine:

The primary goal or reason to buy The Artwork of Yellow Submarine was to obtain the hardcover book contained within the box set. It is my understanding that only 350 copies of the book were issued worldwide. This is the front cover of the book:
