BEATLES-RELATED CHILDREN’S BOOKS: PART OF THE FUN OF COLLECTING BEATLES PRINT MATERIAL IS THAT INTERESTS ARE SO VARIED AMONG COLLECTORS!!
ALL THE CHILDREN SING…
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill (2018 Mix)
Many post first-generation Beatles fans introduced their admiration for the Beatles to their own kids by showing them the movie, Yellow Submarine. Even some of the Beatles children like Sean Lennon and Dhani Harrison first became exposed to the mammoth nature of the band through that movie and they discovered that their fathers were a part of the band!

Some people choose to collect the mass market Beatles books with authors that are well-known. Some collect books about the individual solo Beatles. Some specialize in rare and obscure Beatles titles. others seek out the independently published titles. Some people only collect Beatles comic books or comics where the Beatles make a guest appearance.
Recently an area which I have not covered extensively has come to light from a longtime blog subscriber named Jennifer. She enjoys collecting Beatles-related books tailored for children. When I read the note she sent me (shown below), I realized that it is books like these that will help continue the Beatles legacy long after we are all gone from this place. Children that learn Beatles music and that are exposed to their story at an early age are far more likely to pass the music on their own children when the time comes. This is what makes the Beatles unique as they have great and unparalleled cross-generational appeal, which is why their music will outlast many of the current popular artists selling millions of streams and vinyl records, today!
One area I have not dealt with extensively since I began this blog was the field of Beatles children’s books! That was to change when I recently received a very kind note from Jennifer, a blog subscriber. I would like to share that note with you know with Jennifer’s permission:
The note recently sent to me from a blog subscriber:
Hi Buzz,
Have you ever highlighted Beatles – related children’s books in your blog? I get a real joy out of looking at children’s books that have a Beatles connection. My latest craze has been collecting books from the Beat Bugs Netflix series. I was elated at my latest find that was being priced at over $1200 on Amazon and I found in great condition for less than $5. It’s a musical book with an attached guitar that a child could play recorded songs with when pressing different buttons. There are two books in this series like this and I have the other one also.
As always – I enjoy your articles and when there’s a new book coming out, you are usually the first one I hear about it from.
Thanks for all you do!
Jennifer

Making Rock and Breaking Stock
In 1958, Paul McCartney invited his school friend John Duff Lowe to play piano with the Quarrymen. That same year, Duff played on the first record made by the Quarrymen, consisting of himself, Colin Hanton, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. That alone would be enough to secure Duff’s place in musical history, but it’s only the beginning of the fascinating tale of the mysterious missing Quarryman.
