Mark Brickley’s 2019 expanded biography, Postcards From Liverpool: Beatles Moments & Memories, explores the Beatles legacy through backstories and rare interviews including Rock & Roll Hall of Fame curator, Meredith Rutledge-Borger, “Love Me Do” British drummer Andy White, early Apple Records recording artist Jackie Lomax and Paul’s son James McCartney, among other conversations.
It’s twenty-five compact chapters (203 pages) reveals how Lennon and McCartney sang harmony in Parallel Thirds and traces the band’s songwriting influences through Detroit’s Motown, British Music Hall and Bob Dylan’s reflections. The book now features seventy photographs/graphics including the author’s original/previously unseen shots of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Pete Best, Patti Boyd, Ravi Shankar, Peter Asher, Nancy Shevell-McCartney, Neil Young, Denny Laine, ELO’s Jeff Lynne, Engelbert Humperdinck and Billy J. Kramer among others.
Author Brickley’s articles have appeared in the British Beatles Fan Club Magazine (2018), Octopus Garden Beatles Fanzine USA (2020) and many USA magazines and newspapers. He is also is a Beatles lecturer who looks back at the band’s beginnings with his multi-media presentation, The Beatles Road To Stardom: 1956-1964.
